Gwen Mizell

Gwen Mizell is currently the Chief Sustainability & Diversity Officer at Ameren. Gwen has extensive experience in the energy industry, having served in various leadership roles at Westinghouse Electric Company, ABB’s Enterprise Software Product Group, GSM Development, and Calpine.

Mizell began their career at Westinghouse Electric Company in 1986 as part of the Sales and Marketing Leadership Development Program. Gwen quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a Senior Marketing Engineer/Environmental Engineer in 1988. In 1999, they left Westinghouse to join ABB’s Enterprise Software Product Group as Manager Deregulated Energy Market Services.

In 2002, Mizell joined Calpine as Director of Business Development. Gwen held this position until 2006 when they left to become Vice President at DNV KEMA. Mizell was responsible for power generation business development in the Americas during their time at DNV KEMA.

In 2009, Mizell left DNV KEMA to become President and CEO of GSM Development, a technical energy consulting firm. Gwen held this position until 2015 when they joined Ameren as Chief Sustainability & Diversity Officer.

Gwen Mizell has a professional certification in Strategic Diversity and Inclusion from Georgetown University. Gwen also has a Master of Science in Management and Public Policy Analysis from Carnegie Mellon University. Gwen has also attended the APPAM Summer Institute at Harvard Kennedy School. Gwen has a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science Engineering from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Their manager is Martin J. Lyons, President & CEO. Gwen Mizell works with Shawn E. Schukar - Chairman & President, Ameren Transmission, Fadi M. Diya - SVP, Ameren Missouri & Chief Nuclear Officer, and Richard J. Mark - Chairman & President, Ameren Illinois.
