Sonya Prasad is an accomplished advisor at the World Health Organization, specializing in the Division of Skin-Related Neglected Tropical Diseases since February 2022. Additionally, Sonya serves as the Lead Programmer of the AAD/ILDS Monkeypox Registry at the American Academy of Dermatology since July 2022. Sonya previously held the position of Global Dermatology Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School from September 2021 to July 2022 and was a Fulbright Scholar with the U.S. Department of State in 2016. Earlier experiences include roles as a Research Staff Associate at the University of California, San Francisco, a Student Researcher at Yale School of Medicine, a Research Fellow at BRAC Institute of Global Health, and a STEM Recruitment Coordinator at Yale College Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Sonya obtained a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and a Master of Science in Health Policy, Planning and Financing from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, following a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University.
