Andrea Fuentes Mpa

Andrea Fuentes, MPA has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Andrea is currently serving as the Director of Strategic Engagements & Sales at the American Academy of Family Physicians since December 2022.

Before that, Andrea held multiple roles at the Heartland Credit Union Association from 2016 to 2022, including Executive Director of External Affairs and Philanthropy, as well as Executive Director of the Foundation.

In 2013, they worked as the Director of Development at ArtsKC - Regional Arts Council. Prior to that, Andrea was the Director of Business Development at DataFile Technologies from 2012 to 2013, where they successfully drove company sales and marketing strategies.

From 2006 to 2012, they worked as the Director of Marketing and Communications at Smiles Change Lives, overseeing all marketing initiatives and communication efforts for the organization.

Andrea's earlier experience includes roles such as Sales Associate at Restoration Hardware, Personal Chef and Caterer at The Festive Chef, Manager of Special Gifts at Rose Brooks Center Inc., Development Director at Youth Opportunities Unlimited, and Development Director, Major Gifts and Campaign Coordinator at the American Lung Association of Western Missouri.

Throughout their career, Andrea has gained expertise in strategic engagements, sales, external affairs, philanthropy, marketing, communications, business development, and fundraising. Their work experience demonstrates their ability to drive growth, manage multiple responsibilities, and effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders.

Andrea Fuentes, MPA, received their B.A in Biology and Spanish Literature from Washington University in St. Louis between 1993 and 1996. Andrea then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Public Administration at the University of Missouri-Kansas City from 1998 to 2000.
