Sandra Pogones Mpa

Sandra Pogones, MPA, CPHQ, is a seasoned professional in healthcare quality improvement and performance measurement, currently serving as Senior Strategist for Health Care Quality at the American Academy of Family Physicians since May 2016. In this role, Sandra advances quality measurement and advocates for effective practices in primary care. Previously, Sandra held the position of Program Manager for Physician Services at Primaris from 2003 to May 2016, where responsibilities included facilitating EHR implementation and supporting healthcare quality initiatives. Sandra's extensive career also includes roles as Territory Sales Manager at Bristol-Myers Squibb and Research Associate at the Iowa Hospital Association, as well as Assistant Executive Director at End-Stage Renal Disease Network #8. Educational credentials include a Master of Public Administration in Healthcare Administration from Drake University and a Bachelor of Arts in Health Information Management from the College of St. Scholastica, complemented by completion of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement's Breakthrough Series College in 2004.
