Sonora Thigpen M.ed.

Sonora Thigpen, M.Ed., is an accomplished Learning Design Strategist at the American Academy of Family Physicians, specializing in continuing medical education design since January 2023. With a strong background in program development and management, Thigpen previously served as the Marketing & Communications Manager at the University of Kansas Medical Center, where notable achievements included the establishment of the department’s first annual CME symposium. Earlier roles include CME Project Specialist and Residency Program Administrator at the American Academy of Family Physicians and the University of Kansas Medical Center, along with a significant tenure as Executive Director of the Kansas City Southwest Clinical Society. Thigpen holds a Master of Science in Adult, Occupational, and Continuing Education from Kansas State University and a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership & Management from Regent University.
