Trish Shomion Cae, Cude

Trish Shomion, CAE, CUDE is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer at the American Academy of Optometry since March 2023. Previously, they held the position of Executive Director at Global Management Partners from January 2017 to March 2023. Before that, they worked as a Senior Marketing & Communications Manager at L&L Management Services Inc from February 2016 to January 2017. Trish also served as the Vice President of Marketing at the Credit Union Association of the Dakotas from April 2014 to February 2016, and as the Manager of Creative Services from December 2013 to April 2014. Prior to that, they worked as an Account Executive at Greenspring Media Group from September 2010 to June 2013. Trish also has experience as a Sales Representative and Editorial Coordinator/Editorial Assistant at McGraw-Hill Higher Education from 2004 to 2009 and as a Bilingual Staffing Specialist at The Huntington Resource from 2003 to 2004.

Trish Shomion, CAE, CUDE, obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology, Anthropology, and Spanish from DePauw University in the years 1999 to 2003. Additionally, they studied Spanish Language & Culture at Universidad de Granada for a short period in 2001. Trish has furthered their professional development by obtaining certifications such as the Certified Association Executive (CAE) from ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership in January 2022, and the Credit Union Development Educator (CUDE) from the National Credit Union Foundation in January 2015.
