American Academy
David Talafuse is an experienced athletic director and educator currently serving as the Athletic Director for three K-8 charter schools at the American Academy since June 2019, overseeing 56 coaches across 10 sports. Talafuse holds a Colorado Educator License in Math and Social Studies and has previously worked as a middle school math instructor and interventionist. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Talafuse has held various leadership roles, including Commander, Senior Executive, and Regional Director, where responsibilities included managing a team of 270 professionals and training senior executives. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Sciences from the United States Air Force Academy and multiple master's degrees in Leadership, Counseling, and Curriculum Development. Currently, Talafuse is pursuing further education at Liberty University.
