Aja Bain

Aja Bain is a seasoned professional in public history, currently serving as the Senior Manager of Professional Development and Publications at the American Association for State and Local History since June 2014. In this role, Aja acts as the editor for various publications, including a book series with Rowman & Littlefield and the quarterly magazine History News. Aja has held notable leadership positions, such as President of the Inter-Museum Council of Nashville from June 2017 to July 2023, and has extensive freelance experience as an editor and research assistant. Aja's educational background includes a Master of Arts in Public/Applied History from Middle Tennessee State University and a Bachelor of Arts in American History and Anthropology from Vanderbilt University.
