Director, Prevention And Public Health Initiatives at American Association of Diabetes Educators

Angela Forfia is a public health professional with extensive experience in diabetes education, community health initiatives, and program management. Currently serving as the Director of Prevention and Public Health Initiatives at the Association of Diabetes Care & Education Specialists since January 2018, Angela oversees the National Diabetes Prevention network with a focus on underserved populations. Previous roles include Program Director at the Asian Health Coalition of Illinois, where Angela managed public health programming for Asian American and Pacific Islander communities, and Senior Supervisor at Rotary International, where Angela supported global programs for youth leadership. Angela has also contributed to health advocacy as Program Manager at Action for Healthy Kids and Senior Coordinator at the American Lung Association of Metropolitan Chicago. Angela holds a Master’s degree in Social Sciences from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and Linguistics from Miami University.
