Paul Steier currently serves as the Director of Vehicle Programs and Law Enforcement Program Manager at the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA), a position held since January 2017. In this role, Paul coordinates educational programs on vehicle titling, licensing, personal identification, and highway safety, while promoting collaboration among motor vehicle and law enforcement agencies across the United States. Prior to AAMVA, Paul held multiple positions at the Iowa Department of Transportation from February 1992 to January 2017, including Director, where management of a team of 20 law enforcement investigators focused on motor vehicle and identity fraud investigations was key. Paul also held roles as Major, Fraud Investigator, and Patrol Officer, contributing to crime investigations and education on vehicle regulations. Education includes a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice Administration, both from Mount Mercy University.
