Susan Jaffe

Susan Jaffe is the Artistic Director of American Ballet Theatre, a position held since November 2022, and is recognized as the incoming Artistic Director for the organization. Previously, Susan Jaffe led Susan Jaffe Productions from January 2006 to November 2022, focusing on choreography. Susan served as the Dean of Dance at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts from 2012 to July 2020 and was the Rehearsal Director at American Ballet Theatre from October 2010 to July 2012, where coaching was a primary responsibility. Additionally, Susan Jaffe contributed as an Outside Educator for Duke Corporate Education from 2004 to 2008, specializing in excellence in performance and education. Susan Jaffe's extensive background includes being a former Principal Dancer at American Ballet Theatre from 1980 to 2002 and formal education from Saint Mary's College of California.
