Jason T. Vail serves as the Division Director and Chief Counsel at the American Bar Association (ABA) since April 2008, leading initiatives to expand access to justice and oversee legal aid programs for low-income populations and military personnel. Previous roles at the ABA include Senior Attorney and Project Director for military legal assistance programs and legal projects delivering pro bono services to active-duty servicemembers and their families. Vail has also contributed to legal professionalism in Illinois as a Communications Consultant, and gained extensive litigation and legal services experience at organizations such as the Northwest Justice Project and the Sargent Shriver National Center on Poverty Law. Additionally, academic roles include teaching legal courses at Central Washington University and Highline Community College. Vail earned a J.D. from Gonzaga University School of Law and a BA in Business Economics from Eastern Washington University.
