Kevin Keane's work experience includes serving as the President & CEO of the American Beverage Association since August 2023, previously holding the role of Interim President & CEO. Before this, they were the Executive Vice President, Government and Public Affairs at the same organization from January 2017 to August 2023. Prior to joining the American Beverage Association, Keane held the position of Senior Vice President, Policy and Public Affairs from December 2005 to December 2016. Kevin also served as the Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs at the US Department of Health and Human Services from January 2001 to November 2005, appointed by President George W. Bush. Earlier in their career, they worked at the Office of Governor Tommy G. Thompson as the Deputy Chief of Staff and Communications Director. Keane also has experience as a Washington Bureau Correspondent at Thomson Newspapers, Assistant City Editor & Reporter at Waukesha Freeman, and Reporter at Fond du Lac Reporter.
Kevin Keane attended the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire from 1983 to 1987, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism.

The American Beverage Association is the trade association that represents America's non-alcoholic beverage industry. ABA was founded in 1919 as the American Bottlers of Carbonated Beverages, and renamed the National Soft Drink Association in 1966. Today the ABA represents hundreds of beverage producers, distributors, franchise companies and support industries. Together, they bring to market hundreds of brands, flavors and packages, including regular and diet soft drinks, bottled water and water beverages, 100 percent juice and juice drinks, sports drinks, energy drinks and ready-to-drink teas.
