Sushanta Das

Sushanta Das has had a long and varied career, beginning with their role as an Officer of Short Term Finance at IDLC in 1999. In 2002, they took on a Research Intern role at Nokia Research, where they worked on Physical Layer performance evaluation and simulation of IEEE Std. 802. 16 (WiMAX) and algorithms for OFDMA uplink transmission and MIMO-OFDM in downlink transmission. In 2006, they became a Senior Member of Research at Philips Research N.A., where they conducted research on Physical Layer, MIMO, Space Time Coding, and Cooperative Communications, and was a Technical Representative of Philips Research at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab (LBNL) from 2008 to 2010. In 2010, they became a Research Scientist at General Motors Technical Center in Bangalore, India. In 2015, they took on the role of Advanced Research Senior Engineer at Hyundai Kia America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI). In 2016, they became a Connected Vehicle Innovation Engineer at Ford Motor Company. In 2019, they became the Lead of Advanced Technologies in Advanced Connectivity and Wireless Technology Specialist at FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. In 2020, they became the Lead of Advanced Connectivity Technologies at Stellantis. Finally, in 2022, they will become the Technical Director at American Center for Mobility.

Sushanta Das began their educational journey in 1979 at K.L. Jubilee High School, where they completed their elementary schooling. Sushanta then moved on to St. Gregory's High School, where they completed their middle and high school education in the field of Science. In 1988, they graduated from Notre Dame College, Dhaka with an HSC in Science. Afterwards, they attended the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay where they earned a BTech in Mechanical Engineering in 1995. In 1997, they obtained an MBA in Marketing from the Institute of Business Administration, Dhaka. Sushanta then returned to The University of Texas at Dallas, where they earned an MS in Electrical Engineering in 2002 and a PhD in Electrical Engineering in 2005.
