Richard Smith

Richard Smith serves as the Chief Operating Officer for Global Distribution at American Century Investments since April 2014, overseeing key capabilities, managing cross-functional projects, and guiding analytics and business intelligence efforts. Prior to this role, Richard was the Head of Client Business Management at American Century, responsible for various business management functions and partnerships across multiple internal teams. Richard's career includes a tenure at Goldman Sachs from July 2002 to March 2014 as Vice President in Global Liquidity Sales and US Third Party Distribution Management, focusing on business analytics and compensation plans. Richard began the career at Prudential Financial, where responsibilities included team leadership in Mutual Fund Administration and analysis of reserve requirements. Richard holds an MBA in Finance and Accounting from NYU Stern School of Business and a BA in Economics from Rutgers University.
