Kelly Elkins serves as a Senior Fellow for the Kirwan Center for Academic Innovation Scholarship of Teaching and Learning at the University System of Maryland since April 2023. Elkins has been actively involved with the American Chemical Society since January 2014, holding various leadership positions including Maryland Women Chemists Co-Chair and Chair of the Maryland Section. With a strong academic background, Elkins has been a Professor of Chemistry at Towson University since August 2012 and has contributed to the field as a book author and editor for publishers such as Taylor & Francis Group and Elsevier. Elkins holds a PhD in Chemistry and Biochemistry from Clark University and has extensive teaching experience at multiple academic institutions, including roles as Director of the Forensic Science Program at Metropolitan State University of Denver and adjunct positions at several colleges.
