John Norman has extensive experience in the field of regulatory and scientific affairs. John currently holds the position of Senior Director at the American Chemistry Council, where they are responsible for leading global initiatives to increase transparency and sustainability in the use of chemicals in plastic. Prior to this, John served as an Associate Toxicologist at ExxonMobil, advocating for the application of scientific research in regulatory determinations. John also worked as a Senior Manager at PepsiCo, streamlining compliance efforts for FDA food packaging regulations. In addition, John has experience in the political sector, having served as a policy expert on energy and environmental issues for U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. John has a strong background in toxicology and has led international projects in the chemical manufacturing industry.
John Norman obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry and Environmental Science, from the State University of New York at Fredonia in 2002. John then pursued their Ph.D. in Toxicology at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry from 2002 to 2007. Following this, they attended Fordham University School of Law from 2009 to 2011, where they earned a Juris Doctor degree in Law.
