Rebecca O'Donnell

Associate Director, Process Safety & Occupational Health at American Chemistry

Rebecca O'Donnell, MPH has a diverse work experience in the field of occupational safety and health. Rebecca is currently working at the American Chemistry Council as the Associate Director of Process Safety & Occupational Health. Prior to this, they served as the Manager of Chemicals Management at the same organization. In this role, they supported federal chemical management policy and advocacy and received a grant for training and educational materials development. Before joining the American Chemistry Council, Rebecca worked at the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers as the Manager of Occupational Safety Programs and as a Specialist in Safety Programs. During their time at AFPM, they responded to regulatory actions, planned and facilitated meetings, and developed leadership programs. Rebecca also gained experience as a Health and Safety Intern at HollyFrontier Corporation and Altice USA, and as a Summer Intern at the US Environmental Protection Agency.

Rebecca O'Donnell, MPH holds a Master's Degree in Environmental and Occupational Health from the Texas A&M Health Science Center School of Public Health, which they completed between 2016 and 2018. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Bioenvironmental Science/Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences from Texas A&M University, graduating in 2016. In terms of additional certifications, Rebecca obtained a HAZWOPER certification from the Texas A&M University School of Public Health in May 2020. The status of their OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification is not provided.
