Ellen Collier

Ellen Collier is an accomplished design professional with extensive experience in editorial design and operations. Currently serving as Senior Director of Design Operations and Regional Creative Director at American City Business Journals since August 2020, Ellen manages a team that collaborates with multiple Business Journal newsrooms to produce compelling visuals for both print and online content. Prior to this role, Ellen held the position of Creative Director at Washington Business Journal and was also an On-site Freelance Designer and Creative Director for Express at The Washington Post. Responsibilities included managing design teams, conceptualizing illustrations, and creating layouts under tight deadlines. Ellen began their career as Lead Designer at Memphis Business Journal and gained valuable experience as an Interactive Design Intern with Gannett | USA TODAY NETWORK. Ellen holds a B.A. in Journalism/Telecommunications and Journalism (Graphics Track) from Ball State University.
