American Civil War Museum
Grace Powers currently serves as the Manager of Donor Relations and Membership at the American Civil War Museum, where responsibilities include developing and executing initiatives to enhance museum membership and boost annual fund donations. Previously, Grace held the position of Membership Administrator and Executive Assistant, managing donor profiles and supporting the President and CEO. Grace also gained experience as an African American Descendant Engagement Intern at Stratford Hall, and as a Chief Historian for the UVA Student Council, leading projects that promote diverse historical narratives. A distinguished research project focused on decolonizing archival material formed part of Grace’s academic work at the University of Virginia, where a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology and American Studies was earned. Additional roles include serving as a Research Intern for Prince William County and as a Research Project Manager for One Shared Story.

Building on decades of experience, and one of the largest private collections of Civil War artifacts and documents, the American Civil War Museum is uniquely positioned. In the spring of 2019, we will open our new, state-of-the-art facility. Exhibits and programming will introduce our visitors to the American Civil War from multiple perspectives including Union and Confederate, enslaved and free African Americans, soldiers and civilians.
