Ed W. Childs

Ed W. Childs, MD, FACS, is a professor and chair of surgery at Morehouse School of Medicine. He received his bachelor's degree in molecular and cellular biology from the University of Texas at Dallas and his medical degree from Texas A&M University College of Medicine. He completed postgraduate training in general surgery at the University of Kansas Medical Center and a fellowship in trauma/critical care at UC Davis Health . Dr. Childs co-edited the book Stigma and Prejudice with ACC Diversity and Inclusion Director Ranna Parekh, MD, MPH, and co-authored The Massachusetts General Hospital Textbook on Diversity and Cultural Sensitivity in Mental Health. He serves as a public member of ACC's Board of Trustees.
