Steven Echard, IOM, CAE, currently serves as the Executive Vice President of the American College of Rheumatology, where significant initiatives in Global Outreach, Governance Organizational Review, and Diversity & Inclusion have been launched since their return in June 2019. With extensive experience in leadership roles across various organizations, including serving as Chief Executive Officer of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases and engaging in multiple capacities at ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership, Steven has demonstrated a commitment to advancing professional standards and organizational excellence. Educationally, Steven holds a BS in Biology - Immunology from Georgia State University and a Graduate Certificate from UCLA’s Institute for Organizational Management.

The American College of Rheumatology's mission is to empower rheumatology professionals to excel in their speciality. This meeting draws thousands of rheumatologists and specialized health professionals from around the world. A number of other topical conferences, meetings, and online courses round out the ACR's educational offerings. The ACR publishes Arthritis & Rheumatology, the premier scientific journal for research in the rheumatic diseases. Arthritis Care & Research is published by the Association of Rheumatology Health Professionals, a division of the ACR. This journal focuses on the health services and clinical aspects of rheumatology.
