American Conservation Experience
Jennifer Layman serves as the Chief Partnership & Strategy Officer and Chief Program Officer at the American Conservation Experience, overseeing the leadership, development, strategy, and fiscal aspects of conservation programs since March 2022. Prior to this role, Jennifer was the National Director of EPIC Programs at the Student Conservation Association from November 2013 to March 2022, where responsibilities included developing partnerships and programming with various land management agencies and nonprofits. Jennifer's earlier positions at the Student Conservation Association included Regional Vice President for Partnerships in both the Eastern and Central U.S., focusing on revenue generation and partnership development. Additionally, Jennifer held roles at Carnegie Mellon University, advancing local relations and government advocacy, and has an extensive background in freelance writing and editing. Educational qualifications include a B.A. in English Writing, with concentrations in nonfiction, psychology, and geology from the University of Pittsburgh, complemented by fellowships to enhance expertise.

American Conservation Experience (ACE) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing rewarding environmental service opportunities for youth, young adults, and emerging professionals of all backgrounds to explore and improve public lands while gaining practical professional experience. ACE is a national leader in recruiting, coordinating, and training volunteers to undertake practical environmental restoration projects in U.S. parks, forests, wildlife refuges, and other public lands. Our programs provide opportunities for youth, young adults, and emerging professionals of all backgrounds to gain tangible professional and field experience through meaningful, hands-on conservation projects. In 2004, ACE began as a small, international conservation program in Flagstaff, Arizona, engaging global volunteers in an American Conservation Experience through rewarding public lands projects. Since then, we have grown to serve locations across the U.S. and Puerto Rico, continuing our mission to foster cross-cultural understanding and unity through national service.
