In her role, Mariana provides strategic guidance and oversight of a variety of public policy issues, with a special focus on financial regulatory issues. Her leadership and subject matter expertise were critical as ACLI worked to achieve group capital calculations at the state, federal and international level that preserved life insurers’ ability to provide American families with long-term financial protection and retirement securities products. Mariana has appeared before a variety of standard setting bodies, at the state, federal and international levels, to advocate on behalf of the life insurance industry.
Prior to joining ACLI, Mariana served as counsel at a trade association representing the 100 largest financial services firms in the United States and as a federal lobbyist at Farmers Insurance.
A California native, Mariana earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of California, Berkeley and her law degree at American University.
