Halis Kaan Akturk

Halis Kaan Akturk serves as an Associate Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus since January 2017, previously holding the title of Assistant Professor in the same fields. Akturk specializes in diabetes technologies including artificial pancreas systems, hybrid closed-loop insulin pump systems, insulin pumps, and continuous glucose monitoring for both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. Additional roles include Communications Director for the Diabetes Technology Interest Group at the American Diabetes Association and Program Director for the non-profit Diabetes Dialog, which provides educational programs for adult endocrinology fellows. Prior experience includes participation on the Fellow in Training Subcommittee of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists and visiting physician roles in Internal Medicine at both Cleveland Clinic and Mount Sinai Medical Center in 2009. Akturk’s education includes medical degrees and residencies from prestigious institutions such as the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine and Istanbul University.
