Mary de Groot

President-elect, Health Care And Education

Mary de Groot currently serves as the President-Elect for Health Care and Education at the American Diabetes Association and has been with the organization since January 2019. Concurrently, Mary holds the position of Associate Professor at the Indiana University School of Medicine, where involvement includes being core faculty for the Diabetes Translational Research Center and serving as a licensed clinical psychologist in the University Hospital Adult Endocrinology Outpatient Clinic. Consulting for the Johnson & Johnson Diabetes Institute since 2007, Mary previously held an Associate Professor role at Ohio University from September 2002 to August 2009 and co-presided over BRIDGE from 2008 to 2009. Mary earned a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Rhode Island, an Ed.M. in Clinical and Consulting Psychology from Harvard University, and a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Northwestern University.
