Janelle N. Coleman

Vice President, Community Engagement, Inclusion And President, AEP Foundation at American Electric Power

Janelle N. Coleman is an accomplished leader in community engagement and inclusion, currently serving as Vice President at American Electric Power since November 2020, where responsibilities include leading the enterprise-wide inclusion strategy and overseeing AEP Foundation's $30M annual investments. Prior to this role, Janelle held the position of Executive Vice President of External Affairs at Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, managing marketing, communications, government relations, and philanthropy. Janelle's previous experience at L Brands involved leading community relations and the L Brands Foundation, managing a $105M fund for domestic and international grants. Additional roles include Director of Organizational Advancement at Project Grad and Director of Public Relations at Community Shelter Board. Janelle holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Ohio University and completed various executive education programs, including Harvard Business School and The Ohio State University.
