Soo Koo

Soo Koo currently serves in strategic communications, domestic outreach, and stakeholder engagement roles at the U.S. Department of State since February 2023 and is a member of the Leadership Network at the American Enterprise Institute since April 2024. Additionally, Soo Koo has been on the Board of Directors for Maryland Humanities since September 2022. Previous experience includes serving as Deputy Director at the Governor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs and Chief of Staff to the First Lady in the State of Maryland from March 2019 to January 2023. Additional roles have included communications director and various positions at international and local organizations, as well as internships at Management Systems International and Georgetown University. Soo Koo holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Diplomacy from Ewha Womans University, a Master's degree in Government from Georgetown University, and has completed an executive education program at Harvard Kennedy School.
