George Johnson has a diverse range of work experience. George began their career in 2007 at Apple as a Lead Creative Trainer, where they worked until 2012. From 2013 to 2014, they worked at Wells Fargo as an EUC Processor - iPad/Apple Specialist and later at Nationwide as an IT Service Desk Lead. In 2014, they joined Dice as an Internal Service Rep and then moved on to Wells Fargo Home Mortgage as an Operations Clerk 3 in 2015. In 2016, George had roles at Midwest Professional Staffing as a Technical Writer and Apex Systems as a Data Center Technician. George then joined American Equity in 2018 as a Computer Operator, progressing to the roles of Quality Assurance Analyst I and II starting in 2021.

George Johnson's education history includes multiple degrees obtained from Des Moines Area Community College. From 2014 to 2016, they completed an Associate of Arts and Sciences (AAS) degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies, an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Management Information Systems, and another Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/General Studies and Humanities.

In addition to their formal education, George Johnson has also obtained several certifications. George received the FLMI-Level-1 certification from LOMA in August 2021. In July 2021, they completed the "Introducing Postman" certification on LinkedIn. George also received certifications related to cloud platforms, such as "Choosing a Cloud Platform for Developers: AWS, Azure, and GCP" in November 2020 and "Introduction to AWS for Non-Engineers" series (covering cloud concepts, security, core services, and billing/pricing) in the same month. Other certifications include "AWS Essential Training for Architects," "Amazon Web Services: Exploring Business Solutions," "Cloud Architecture: Core Concepts," "Learning Cloud Computing: Cloud Storage," "Learning Cloud Computing: Core Concepts," "Learning ITIL," "Learning VMware vSphere," "VMware vSphere: Advanced Networking," "VMware vSphere: Configure and Manage Networking," "Learning VMware vSphere 6.5," "Programming Foundations: Databases," "SQL for Exploratory Data Analysis Essential Training," and "VMware vSphere 6 Essential Training," all completed between 2019 and 2021.
