From 1994-2000 he worked as an investment banker with BOTTS & Co in London, UK. In 1994 Kunatbaev partnered with BOTT & Co. to found TV3 Russia. Over a decade, Kunatbaev grew TV3 into the fifth-largest TV station in Russia and later divested it in 2007.
