Alex Hopwood

Alex Hopwood is an accomplished finance executive with significant experience at American Express since 2007. Currently serving as VP of Finance Technology, Data & Transformation, Alex leads Finance Transformation initiatives and aligns investment strategies with the CIO organization. Previously held the role of Chief Financial Officer for Global Technology, Prepaid & Alternative Payments, overseeing substantial application development and IT budgets. Earlier experience includes serving as CFO for the OPEN division, which targets small business customers, and as VP of Investor Relations, where Alex engaged with the institutional investor community during the financial crisis. Alex holds an MBA in Finance from the University of San Diego and a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Boston University.
