Sonia Cargan

Sonia Cargan has extensive experience in talent management and human resources, notably serving as EVP Chief Talent Officer at American Express from September 2004 to February 2025, where responsibilities included leading global talent management, leadership development, executive recruiting, and internal talent mobility. Previous roles at American Express include Chief Talent Officer and Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and Talent Officer, emphasizing inclusive culture and strategic execution. Additionally, Sonia held positions as Vice President Human Resources for Northern Europe and HR Director for Customer Services Europe, managing HR functions and employee engagement across multiple regions. Currently, Sonia serves as a Non-Executive Director at The National Archives in the UK. Sonia obtained a BA (Hons) in Social Administration from the University of Brighton.
