Michael Wegner

Michael Wegner is an experienced cybersecurity and IT professional with a robust background in technology architecture and security management. Currently serving as Principal Cyber Security Architect/Engineer and Ransomware Task Force Lead at American Family Insurance since October 2018, Michael has previously held director-level positions in Enterprise Technology Services and Core Infrastructure Services. Prior experience includes serving as Director of IT Security and Infrastructure at WEA Trust, where responsibilities encompassed comprehensive technology and cybersecurity oversight, as well as fulfilling the role of HIPAA Security Officer and CISO during audits. At Care Communications, Inc., Michael led the Information Technology and IT Security departments, focusing on technology vision and operations. Michael's career also includes roles with Business Productivity Solutions, Morrison & Morrison, Ltd., Hooper Corporation, Wisconsin Department of Revenue, and Asche Transfer Inc. Michael holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management of Information Systems from Western Illinois University.
