Whitney Shields (she/they)

Whitney Shields possesses extensive experience in project management, policy development, and legal support within the fields of agriculture and food systems. Currently serving as a Project Manager at the American Farmland Trust, Whitney previously held a similar role at the Center for Agriculture and Food Systems (CAFS), where responsibilities included project coordination, management of client relationships, and collaboration with students and faculty. A background in legal affairs as a Litigation Paralegal and as a Paralegal at Alvin Johnson & Associates, LLC complements Whitney's skills in research, writing, and communication. Whitney's diverse experience also includes roles in food security with the Peace Corps in Togo, where significant projects in women's wellness and reforestation were implemented. Educational credentials include a Master’s Degree in Food and Agriculture Law and Policy from Vermont Law and Graduate School, contributing to a solid foundation in the intersection of law, policy, and agriculture.
