Tihda Vongkoth is the President of Local 427-721 at the American Federation of Musicians of the US & Canada. Tihda is also the Co-Founder and President of Modern Marimba. With a strong background in percussion, Tihda has held roles as an Extra Percussionist at various orchestras such as The Florida Orchestra, Sarasota Orchestra, and Jacksonville Symphony. Tihda holds a Master of Music in Percussion Performance from Temple University and a Bachelor of Music from Southern Methodist University. Tihda also studied percussion at the Interlochen Center for the Arts and Pinellas County Center for the Arts at Gibbs High School.

The American Federation of Musicians of the United States and Canada (AFM) is the largest organization representing professional musicians and is comprised of 80,000 musicians. We perform in orchestras, backup bands, festivals, clubs and theaters (both on Broadway and on tour). AFM members also make music for films, TV, commercials and sound recordings.
