The American Foreign Service Association is a unique organization, both the professional association and labor union for the U.S. Foreign Service. Our mission: defending the Foreign Service and its people.

Our members are active-duty and retired Foreign Service members from across six foreign affairs agencies --U.S. Department of State, U.S. Agency for International Development, Foreign Agricultural Service, Foreign Commercial Service, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, and U.S. Agency for Global Media.

The Communications and Publications team at the American Foreign Service Association is responsible for producing and managing content that promotes and defends the interests of Foreign Service members. This includes the publication of the Foreign Service Journal, coordination of online and print communications, and ensuring the integrity and quality of all media products. The team plays a critical role in advocacy, information dissemination, and fostering a sense of community among active-duty and retired Foreign Service personnel.
