Peter Hutchins

Peter Hutchins is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in nonprofit and association leadership. Since January 2011, Peter has served as the Chief Operating Officer at American Forests, where strategic oversight has led to substantial growth in staff and enhancements in urban forestry initiatives. Previous roles include Vice President of Programs and Vice President of Community & Strategic Initiatives, demonstrating expertise in advocacy, community transformation, and innovative leadership models. Before joining American Forests, Peter held various leadership positions at ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership, focusing on knowledge management and online initiatives. Peter's early career involved technology and online service management at the Greater Washington Society of Association Executives. Peter holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Public Relations from The University of Georgia.
