Heather Mavronicolas Mph

Vice President, Impact Measurement at American Foundation for Suicide Prevention

Heather Mavronicolas, PhD, MPH has extensive work experience in various roles related to impact measurement, health planning and evaluation, research training, and program coordination. Their most recent position is as Vice President, Impact Measurement at the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, where they have been working since May 2022. Prior to that, they held the role of Senior Director, Impact Measurement at the same organization from February 2020 to May 2022. From 2018 to 2020, they served as the Director of Health Planning and Evaluation in the Office of the Medical Director at the City of New York, Department of Homeless Services. From 2014 to 2018, they held the position of Director of Research Training and Project Scientist in the Department of Medicine at The Brooklyn Hospital Center. Before that, they were an Assistant Professor and the Director of the Master of Public Health Program at St. John's University, Department of Pharmacy Administration and Allied Health Sciences from 2012 to 2014. Heather also has experience working at the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene as the Director of Quality Management and Special Projects in the HIV Care, Treatment & Housing Program from 2011 to 2012, and as a Special Projects Coordinator in the same program from 2008 to 2011. In addition, they worked as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, School of Public Health in 2008, and as a Senior Program Coordinator at the Tulane Cancer Center from 2004 to 2007.

Heather Mavronicolas PhD MPH completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1996 to 2000. Heather then pursued their Master of International Public Health at the University of Sydney School of Public Health from 2003 to 2004. Heather later earned their Doctor of Philosophy degree from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine between 2006 and 2010.
