Jonathan Dozier-Ezell has a wide range of work experience in various organizations. Jonathan began their career in 2004 as a Manager at ProCAT. From 2005 to 2008, they worked at WILL, where they were responsible for maintaining recording and playback of multiple on-air television stations. At Illini Media from 2006 to 2008, they served as a Creative Assistant Manager, overseeing the intake of camera ready artwork and managing student graphic designers. Jonathan then moved on to PEN American Center, where they worked as the Prison Writing Program Coordinator from 2009 to 2011. Since 2011, they have been associated with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, where they held multiple roles, starting as a Research Manager and progressing to Senior Manager, Director, and finally Senior Director of Digital Communications and Brand and Digital Marketing. In these roles, they were involved in various aspects of digital communications, including grant management, website maintenance, and overseeing digital marketing strategies.

Jonathan Dozier-Ezell obtained a Full Stack Web Development Certification from freeCodeCamp in 2018. Prior to that, they earned an MFA in Creative Writing - Fiction from The New School between 2009 and 2011. Additionally, they completed their BA in English and Writing at the University of Montevallo from 2000 to 2004.
