Shannon Limjuco, MPH has extensive work experience in various public health organizations. Shannon is currently working at the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, where they hold the position of Senior Director, Program Operations. Prior to that, they worked as the Director, Program Operations at the same organization.
Before joining the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Shannon worked at the American Academy of Pediatrics. Their roles at the organization included Director, Telehealth & ECHO Initiatives and Senior Manager, Telehealth & ECHO Initiatives. Shannon also served as the Program Manager for Project ECHO, where they developed and managed education for clinicians on various child health topics, trained others in the ECHO methodology, and led global expansion efforts in multiple countries.
Shannon's previous experience includes working at the San Francisco Department of Public Health, where they held roles such as Manager, Communicable Disease Prevention Unit and Manager, Public Health Emergency Preparedness & Response Branch. Shannon was responsible for overseeing state immunization grants, managing daily unit operations, coordinating outreach efforts, and leading department-wide emergency preparedness activities.
Shannon also gained experience working as an Intern and Consultant for Nutrition Policy at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, as a Health Communications Associate at Rabin Martin, as a Project Manager at the Illinois Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics, and as a Program Manager at Chicago Cares, Inc.
Shannon began their career as a History Teacher at Avondale High School. Shannon holds a Master of Public Health degree.
Shannon Limjuco, MPH received their Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Sociomedical Sciences and Health Promotion from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health from 2007 to 2009. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Political Science from Saint Mary's College from 1995 to 1999. Additionally, Shannon obtained certification in Adult Mental Health First Aid from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing in May 2023.
