Willie Colon

Willie Colon is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in development and communications, currently serving as Leadership and Planned Gift Officer at the American Friends Service Committee since June 2011. In this role, Willie develops case statements for major gift appeals and collaborates on donor stewardship functions. Previously held the positions of Senior Editor and Interim Director of Annual Giving, overseeing a $10 million annual giving program. As a Development Consultant for Bloomsburg University since October 2010, Willie notably contributed to a record-breaking fundraising year for the Henry Carver Fund. Additional consulting work with Friends Council on Education and experience in community outreach and computer skills instruction with the Media Mobilizing Project further showcase a diverse skill set. Willie holds a Master's degree in Communication/Journalism from Stanford University and a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature from Cornell University.
