Jay Somera

Jay Somera serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Spartan Capital, an investment arm of The Somera Family Office since October 2021. In this role, Jay oversees investments across various asset classes, aiming to drive economic growth and make a positive social impact. As a Partner at American Health Staffing Group since May 2017, Jay helps to provide healthcare staffing services, enhancing the organization's significant growth in the industry. Previously, Jay founded and led THAXTON Interim Leadership, focusing on quality interim healthcare leadership nationwide until retirement in October 2021. Other notable experience includes serving as an Executive Leadership Consultant for Kaiser Permanente and as Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer at Healthcare Executive Placements. Jay holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Western Oregon University, a degree in Terrorism Studies from Portland State University, and a certificate in Maritime Security Awareness from California State University Maritime Academy.
