David Peña

David Peña is a National Senior Program Consultant for the American Heart Association, specializing in Health Care Quality and Clinical Research since June 2021. In this role, David is responsible for the development and implementation of quality programs aimed at improving care for cardiovascular disease patients. Prior to this position, David served as the Quality Improvement Program Manager for the National Hypertension Control Initiative at CHRISTUS Health from January 2017 to May 2021, where a focus on delivering high-quality patient care and enhancing clinical workflows was paramount. Early career experience includes working as an Administrative Assistant at Texas State University, assisting healthcare researchers with project recruitment and data confidentiality from January 2015 to May 2017. David holds a Master of Healthcare Administration from Drexel University and a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from Texas State University.
