Richard Cowling

Richard Cowling is an accomplished nursing educator with extensive experience in academic leadership, currently serving as an Associate Professor at East Carolina University since September 2018. Cowling has held several key administrative roles, including Vice President for Excellence in Nursing Education, Vice President of Academics, and Dean, contributing to advancements in nursing education. As Editor of the Journal of Holistic Nursing since 2005, Cowling promotes holistic health research and education. Previous leadership roles include Interim Dean of Nursing at Fortis College-Norfolk, Dean of the College of Nursing at Argosy University, and Vice President of Academic Affairs at Chamberlain College of Nursing, while also holding a professorship and directorship at UNCG. Cowling earned a PhD in Nursing from New York University, solidifying a strong academic foundation that complements a robust career dedicated to nursing excellence and leadership.
