Akin Demehin has extensive experience in healthcare policy and quality and patient safety. Starting in 2005, they worked at Massachusetts General Hospital, initially as an Administrative Fellow and then as an Administrative Director for the Center for Quality and Safety. In 2011, they moved on to the National Quality Forum, where they served as an Administrative Director for Performance Measures. In 2012, they joined the American Hospital Association, where they held various roles including Senior Associate Director, Director of Policy, and currently, Senior Director of Quality and Patient Safety Policy.

Akin Demehin earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Science from Harvard University from 1999 to 2003. Akin went on to further their education at Yale University, where they obtained a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Health Policy and Administration from 2003 to 2005.
