Kristin Preihs has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of healthcare and public health. Kristin began their career as a Neuroscience & Psychology Laboratory Manager at Northern Illinois University in 2008, where they worked until 2011. From 2011 to 2013, they served as a Health Education Professor at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.

In 2012, Kristin joined the Jackson County Health Department as a Public Health Educator and remained in that role until 2014. Following this, they worked as a Public Health Education & Policy Manager at the City of Evanston from 2014 to 2016.

From 2015 to 2017, they served as a Quality Improvement Manager at the Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center.

In 2017, Kristin joined the American Hospital Association as a Senior Performance Improvement Manager, and later became the Director of Clinical Quality & Funded Partnerships in February 2021. Kristin continues to work in this position.

Kristin Preihs completed their education at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, where they earned a Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) degree with a specialization in Community Health. Prior to that, they attended Northern Illinois University, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree with a major in Psychology and an emphasis on Neuroscience. In addition to their academic degrees, Kristin Preihs holds several certifications, including a Certified Quality Improvement Associate from ASQ - World Headquarters and an E-ROC: Ethical Research Oversight Certification from Boston University School of Medicine. Kristin is also a Certified Health Education Specialist, certified by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc.
