John O'Bryan

John O'Bryan is the current President & CEO of American Industrial Transport. John has held this position since December 2020.

Before this, John was the Senior Vice President Business Development & Integration at The Greenbrier Companies from January 2019 to December 2020. In this role, they were responsible for leading the integration of ARI Manufacturing into Greenbrier's global manufacturing business. This includes developing relationships with ARI's customers and Greenbrier's sales team, to support customer contracts valued at over $1B in future revenue.

Prior to their time at The Greenbrier Companies, John was the President and CEO of American Railcar Industries, Inc. from January 2017 to December 2019. In this role, they led a $1.7B business with 2.2K employees and 25 locations striving to deliver world-class results in safety, quality, and service to 400 customers.

Some notable accomplishments during their time at American Railcar Industries include completing a strategic review of the business and leadership team to define a new vision, exceeding the business plan of $470M in Revenue, $146M in EBITDA, 98% lease fleet utilization, and record level of customer orders (over 13K railcars valued at $1.2B in sales).

John also oversaw the asset sale of ARI Manufacturing to The Greenbrier Companies for $430M and the sale of American Railcar Leasing after creating a new leasing

John O'Bryan has completed an advanced management program in business strategy and global leadership from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. John also holds a bachelor's degree in marketing from Jacksonville University and is a certified public accountant (CPA) with a specialization in accounting from Northern Illinois University. In addition, they have an MBA in international business and finance from the University of North Florida.
