Ir Dr Samantha Kong

Ir Dr. Samantha Kong is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University since 2021. As the Founding President of the HKUST Chemical Engineering Student Chapter for the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, Ir Dr. Kong leads a team dedicated to organizing professional and personal development activities for chemical engineering students. Current responsibilities also include serving as Senior Manager for Environmental Management, ESG & Environmental Education at the Business Environment Council from 2023 to 2025. Previous experience includes roles such as Associate & Team Lead for Climate & Sustainability at Arup from 2020 to 2023 and Environmental Engineer specializing in Water & Environment at SMEC from 2014 to 2020. Ir Dr. Kong holds a Doctor of Education in Environmental Policy & Education from the University of Bristol, a Master’s Degree in Sustainable and Environmental Design from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical and Environmental Engineering from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
