Abdullah Ferdous

Abdullah Ferdous has a diverse range of work experience in the field of psychometrics and statistical analysis. Abdullah currently serves as a Principal Researcher/Psychometrician at the American Institutes for Research, a position they have held since August 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Technical Director at Management Systems International - A Tetra Tech Company|Education Practice Area from May 2015 to August 2021.

Abdullah also has previous experience with the American Institutes for Research, where they held the roles of Principal Psychometrician from April 2014 to May 2015 and Sr. Psychometrician from September 2007 to March 2014. Before that, they worked at Measured Progress as a Psychometrician, providing statistical and psychometric support to various state-wide education testing programs. Abdullah was responsible for constructing test instruments, conducting item analysis, calibration, scaling, and validity research studies. Abdullah worked there from May 2005 to September 2007.

In addition, Abdullah has worked as a Research Assistant at the Buros Institute for Assessment Consultation and Outreach from August 2001 to May 2005, where they provided statistical and psychometric support to various education testing and licensure programs. Abdullah was involved in designing projects, analyzing data, and presenting research studies at conferences.

Abdullah's earlier experiences include a Summer Fellowship at Harcourt Assessment Inc. in 2004, a consultant role at UNICEF, Bangladesh from June 2000 to August 2001, and a statistical consultant position at the Primary School Performance Monitoring Project, Bangladesh from September 1997 to July 2001.

Throughout their career, Abdullah Ferdous has demonstrated their expertise in psychometrics, statistical analysis, and research, contributing to the field through conference presentations and publications.

Abdullah Ferdous has a strong education background in the field of statistics and quantitative and qualitative methods in education. Starting in 1989, they completed a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Statistics at Aligarh Muslim University, followed by a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Statistics from the same institution in 1994. Abdullah'seducational journey continued at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where they obtained a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Quantitative and Qualitative Methods in Education in 2002. Abdullah further pursued their academic pursuits at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and completed their Ph.D. in 2005 with a specialization in Quantitative and Qualitative Methods in Education.
