Alyssa Cohen

Alyssa Cohen has a diverse background with extensive experience in various roles and organizations. Alyssa started their career as a Senior Health Benefits Analyst at The Segal Company from 1998 to 2001. Alyssa then joined the New York City Office of Management and Budget, where they served as the Unit Head of the Intergovernmental Relations Unit from 2001 to 2006. After that, Cohen worked at the Hospital for Special Surgery, initially as the Marketing and Program Director from 2006 to 2007, then as an Associate Director from 2007 to 2015, and finally as the Director of the International Center from 2015 to 2017. Following their time at the Hospital for Special Surgery, they joined the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services, where they held two positions. First, as the Administrator IV of the Division of Medicaid Services from 2018 to 2019, responsible for policy development and implementation. Then, as the Deputy Medicaid Director from 2019 to 2023, overseeing the division and leading a team of staff. Currently, Alyssa Cohen is employed as a Researcher at the American Institutes for Research, joining in February 2023.

Alyssa Cohen pursued their education at Brandeis University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Sociology between 1989 and 1993. Afterward, they attended Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health from 1995 to 1997 to earn a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree with a specialization in Policy and Management.
